Don’t solve problems, satisfy needs

It’s useful to frame for yourself who you are and what you bring to the world. It directs your energy where you want it to go.

One frame is “I’m a problem solver.”

In theory, this helps you look for solutions in the world.

The challenge here is:

Problem is negative – To solve problems, you have to find problems which means you have to look at the world as a set of problems.  Something is off about that negative outlook.  It can drag you down.

I think a better framing is “I satisfy needs.”  Or maybe “I satisfy wants and needs.”

Needs and wants are not necessarily negative.

I want to have a great date with my wife. It is just a better frame than solving some problem.  It allows for growth in good things.

Solve wants/needs not problems.
