Just do the basics everyday

The only way I’ve seen to make progress is to do the basics consistently.

What is the minimum that you can realistically do every day to make progress toward the person you want to be? Just do that consistently and results follow.

For me, its simple, daily workout (with a minimum of a daily mile run), daily hour of focus, learn something every day. If I can do that everyday, I progress. The problem isn’t that the consistent list is small. The problem is that when you get overwhelmed you don’t even do the basics and slide into a depressive funk.

Stick to the basics, consistently, daily.

  1. This really speaks to me. I am going through a difficult time at work and I’m struggling to try to do everything I need to do to please others each day. If I think of it as doing what I have to, and not always trying to go above and beyond, I think I’ll be a lot better off. Been stressed to the max and I’m no longer bending backwards for anyone else. Thanks for the reminder! Be good to yourself.
